Accommodation on Long Beach Phi Phi Island

There are 5 places to stay on Long and they all have superb views of Phi Ph Ley the southern Island of the Phi Phi Islands.

Phi Phi The Beach Resort . This is the smartest resort on Long Beach as it is the newest and the best designed and has a pool. When I stayed there it was full of 25-35 year olds, young and professional who knew how to relax.

Phi Phi Paradise Pearl resort is the largest and covers about half the beach nearest Tonsai bay. Prices this April 2006 for the best Phi Phi Paradise Pearl resort bungalows were 2200THB, Fan Rooms 1400THB. Reception is about 100 meters away from the Restaurant but looks smart. There have been 2 phases of building beach front accommodation and the new ones look tidier, it could be good to check which one you are booking into before you make a reservation.

Phi Phi Long Beach is the most economy accommodation and as it is on the beach is very popular. Prices April 2006 were 300 THB for basic economy bungalows, 500THB for standard bungalows and 800THB beach front.

Phi Phi The Hill is up a flight of 84 steps which makes getting to the beach a bit awkward. Once you are up there though the views and the quiet make this a tremendous choice for accommodation. Some of the bungalows have some of the best views for the hotels on the island.

Lastly Viking Bungalows is on the most westerly headland of Long Beach and is based on a reception – bar area on a pretty little beach no more than 35 meters wide. Simple accommodation we also saw tents there last time we went by on a Phi Phi Taxi

Long Beach Divers, Phi Phi Island describes itself as “The Most Chilled out and Relaxed Dive Shop on Phi Phi island” with 100% safety record, and budget rooms available with all courses.
It also has a Live aboard Boat that goes to Phi Phi King Cruiser Wreck Monday Wednesday and Friday during the 2006 high season. On this trip there is the option to get a pick from Songserm ferry from Phi Phi to Phuket for free. This is because the Dolphin One, the liveaboard dive boat is the same as company as the ferry company.

Snorkeling off Long Beach is tremendous and out by the rock out crops the reefs are at their best. Be aware that strong currents are here twice a day and that in low season the swells can be disorientating.

Walks from Long Beach.
There are 2 classic walks.

One takes you to the village over the rocks through Maphrao Resort past the school and the Andaman Beach Resort. This takes about 30 minutes in day light.

The other takes you from behind Long Island Divers up over the small hill to Loh Modee Beach and this take you about 12 minutes. This beach is isolated and has another beautiful reef.
